Building urWeb

A no nonsense web browser, urWeb is being made by me to suit the needs of the majority of internet users. Browse the web the way you want. Make it simple, fast , stylish and enjoyable. I am designing it to give you maximum screen real estate. Some of the unique features are as follows : - Maximum screen real estate, even caption buttons (minimize, maximize, close) can be hidden! Rename your bowser. It is your browser after all. You can name it <your name> if you don’t want the default name ‘urWeb’. You can surprise your friends that way! Block ads by default, speed sets and the like Add features you like, just send me a mail and I’ll try to work it out, else, you can add a feature to it yourself. You can be a part of the development team, anytime(even after init. dev work is done) I’ll put up a sample screenshot here, it is naked, I admit but it will build itself up real soon. I’ll also host it on sourceforge.net in a few days so that you can see the source code from time

Try Jolicloud 1.0

Jolicloud is a Linux -based operating system developed by a company of the same name. Jolicloud is built on top of Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty) Netbook Edition [6] , and as with that Linux distribution, is tweaked for netbooks and other computers with limited disk storage , memory , and screen size. [7] [8] Jolicloud was designed for easy installation, with Wi-Fi , Bluetooth , and 3G modem support all included. [9] The operating system supports all the major netbooks, including models from Asus , Acer , Dell , HP , MSI , Samsung and Sony . [10] Jolicloud claims the OS supports 98% of netbooks with out-of-the-box compatibility. [11] Version 1.0 of the operating system incorporates a user interface built primarily with HTML5 that includes an application launcher, a library of compatible applications with one-click installation and removal, a display of all machines associated with a user account, and a social activity stream that enables users to compare installed applications. Exploit your Internet Connection

We all wish we had a faster than light network speed(well not really). But there are limitations we all have to face more than often. Anyway, that’s life. But you can tweak your network, thus allowing you to get better speeds. This tutorial is not a tutorial(read that again :)) but just a guide. I think you will benefit. Get a Download Manager Often long downloads get stuck due to a network failure. Chances are high that such half finished or worse, almost finished downloads will be lost. To prevent that and also to maintain consistently high download speeds you must get a download manager. I will list the download managers(my choice, sorry :)) Operating System Download Manager Windows Free Download Manager Linux (Debian) Toolsbysk Mac iGetter BSD wxdfast   Get a browser(aka get Firefox)   Yes I know Chrome, Opera and Safari are there, and some run faster too but Firefox addons (more than 2 billion now) beat them all. Believe me, use Firefox, with some hand

iNote

Many times you will require a text editor that looks good, runs on XP, is reasonably fast and feature rich but most importantly light weight. Besides even if you like an editor there will be something not to your liking, say the looks, or the lack of a feature. Wish you could add a feature or two of your choice. Yet you would not like top pay hefty sum of money to the software developing companies. In that case your search should end here. Bringing to you my own open source text editor supporting multiple formats that will fulfill all your needs. In case it doesn’t, just add the feature you want or request me. The best part is that it is free and requires no Herculean configuration. A screenshot of my iNote in action : - Yes this is a screenshot taken in Windows XP Service Pack 2. All you have to do to get this running is to have a Windows OS(at least XP) and .NET Framework 3.0 Some Features : Ribbon UI like the Wordpad in Windows Seven Skinnable Interface Spell Checker Ea
