Sri Sri & Homosexuality – Another media hit job in the making

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar (henceforth named as Mr. Shankar) is not new to controversy. Not even with topics like homosexuality. What the event was At an event in the Jawaharlal Nehru University, Ravi Shankar gave a talk on the occasion of the Nehru Memorial lecture on 13 th November, 2017. One among the audience lamented that he was ill-treated since he was known to be a homosexual. Then Mr. Shankar stated that he needed to accept himself as he was and love knew no boundaries. Let’s see and hear what he said… Let’s quote Mr. Shankar verbatim as reported by some of the newspapers . ‘ You treat yourself better, doesn’t matter how others treat you. You don’t think you are sick or something’s wrong with you. If you stand up, nobody can insult you… But if you feel weak and meek, and if you feel bad about yourself, nobody can make you feel better.’ Indian Express reported this in addition as well. Let me quote it directly here as well. ‘ This is your tendency now. Just ack

Meeting with Syed, the Internet Guy

In India we often name people according to their profession. Like someone selling aloo or potatoes becomes aloowala meaning potato guy. Same goes for rickshaw wala (a man who drives rickshaws). I was having serious issues due to insufficient speed due to a shared connection . It was not the fault of the people sharing it. When the speed is high, the fair usage limit (read miser speed limit) needs to be high. Unfortunately, the download limit was low and so after exhausting it in a couple of days, the rest of the month we would just be sharing a 512KB connection. That is completely inadequate for my needs. Hence, I was forced to order for a new connection. I called up the local DSL network operator . If you are not familiar with how things work in India - these are small cable operators who buy bandwidth from the ISPs and then themselves rent out small bits at a time. Hence they get them at a bargain. We get them cheaper than other players in the market. The only downside? Suppor

The Free Arabs - Islam in Arab Countries

So here I go again. My topic  is Islam in Arab countries. You might think, here I am ranting my ' Islamophobic ' rants here on my blog. You might think, that since I don't like a few things, and I honestly come out in the open saying so, rather than conspiring behind everyone's backs, I no longer have the right to live. Well, maybe, but today this post is going to be something different. I recently watched a number of videos and came across some well meaning individuals and groups that are a beacon of humanity amid the barbarism and stone age mentality of the middle eastern fundamentalists. This post is about those free people who wish to remain just that - free. Islam in Arab countries is perceived to be highly politicized , radical that permits and encourages barbaric practices that are completely opposed to the requirements of basic human rights and dignity. Values that go against the very basic principles of life are promoted with divine sanction. The image is tr

The Crow from Pakistan

Crows are black in color. They look pretty alike don't they? Unless of course there is some distinguishing mark in them like, a damaged beak, or a blind eye or something like that. Surprisingly the crow I am talking about looks pretty Indian. The same beak, the same black feathers, similar prejudices, same habits, same way of living. He had just flown across Lahore over the fence by South of Wagah to the wheatfields to the south west of Amritsar. The tresspassing crow was hungry and had started feeding on Indian wheat. I wonder where he will defecate. Was Pakistani crow shit considered bombing when the food is Indian? I didn't know. I pressed my binoculars close to my eyes and wait but my hands are aching. So I took out my tripod, keep the tea plate on top of it and rested my hands on it. Then I again held my binoculars and focused the crow. The crow was dutifully eating the wheat grains as if that was the only thing he was born for this purpose only. This continued for around
