Friend's Exam, Moral Dilemma and an Unknown Lady

Saturday was rough. Truth be told, Friday was kinda rough on me. Got no sleep, got to hit the bed at around 6 in the morning. Woke up around 8:15 when Lali called me up. I was so tired I could not even curse! But I had to keep my word. I was supposed to get her to her exam day, and I did. Just after I went to sleep again and woke up around 10, just before we were supposed to meet at my place. From there we got to the exam center. Halted in between for some much needed breakfast - the ones that reminded me of the little food I had last night. Still was not sure why I had such little appetite. A couple of lassis and two parathas proved too much for both of us, and I started feeling dizzy. The feeling stayed for a couple of hours. The college was okay, I guess, conveniently located in the middle of a jungle, away from human habitation except for the students with little expectations. Dropping my friend of, I took a couple buses back home. On the way back I went around a shoppin

My Trip To Home

Coming home is always a special affair and rightly so. Everytime I come home, I feel great. This time I chose a slightly different route than the one that I usually take. Actually it was my Dad's idea. He said that instead of spending a lot on moving from Bangalore to Kolkata directly by air, I can move to Chennai by train and take a flight from there. It actually saved me around Rs. 6000! After somehow doing my work at office I left for the railway station - the Bangalore City Junction. After a sleepy ride to the station in a crowded AC bus I reached the Majectic Bus Stand. From there I got some help from a fellow passenger to identify the road to the railway station. The station was great. Though initially I was scared that I might not make it in time, I was relieved to find out that I was about a couple of hours before time! So I had a sandwich that sucked. Then after sometime I went to a eatery and had Veg Biriyani. They served it on a banana leaf! That was great. Rest

So finally it rained in Bangalore

Last week onwards it has finally started raining in Bangalore, albeit intermittently and terribly late. But then again better late than never. One night it suddenly started raining. I was surfing the net and doing some silly stuff when suddenly my flat mate said that it was raining. I could of course hear it, but then I take some time to react to external stimulus when I am engrossed in some work. After about five minutes, nature forced the electricity out of our area and I was practically forced to watch the beauty of the rainfall. Not that I would regret it. To be honest it was raining cats and dogs. Not literally, but yeah, after seeing Bangalore dry throughout the monsoon, seeing such a heavy downpour was really refreshing. When I just stood out of the door, the rain was in all its splendor. The place was all dark outside. The trees were all quenching their thirst. The roads were deserted. It was just the scene I wanted to see. In about five minutes the smell of the soil was all

Bangalore - Where I now live!

Life in Bangalore Bangalore or Bengaluru is one of the strangest places I have ever been. First, I'll call it Bangalore. In any case I am not really fond of this place, and the official name just makes me go nuts. Literally! Bangalore techie in action! Lets start with the good things in Bangalore. The advantage is that for me there ain't much good here so this paragraph is going to be short! Bangalore has excellent weather, inspite of not being the hills. Weather in Bangalore is always temperate, with the mercury hovering from 68 and 78 Fahrenheit. So yeah, unlike in other Indian metro cities, here we don't have to sweat. Electricity costs are also cut down because we don't need air conditioners or even fans. The other good thing about Bangalore is its vicinity to various tourist spots in South India. Be it the Nilgiris or the Malabar, Konkan or Goa, all are within reach and easily. Seriously??? Now lets begin the negative aspects of the city. I will ment

Here I come

Five months before I embarked on the unknown journey to Mumbai, I did not know what was going to happen. Everything was in the dark. In all my four years of college life I always looked for any chance to come back home when I got a holiday in the weekends.  No, this time its Bangalore to Mumbai! However now thing have changed so tremendously. All my thoughts focus on getting a chance to see her again. Who is she? No one. There is no blood relation. She lives 2000km from my hometown. She ain't Bengali, does not even understand Bengali, doesn't share any real tangible similarity. But I find peace in her. I found love in her. In an odd way I find a lot of things that are strikingly similar to my tastes. And here I am, rushing to Mumbai to meet her, to spend some time with her.  I have got a pretty big surprise for her on the 15th of August. I don't know if she knows what is coming. But then I am going to surprise her in a big way. I mean as big as my budget would
