God Tweets for us Mortals

I was honestly wondering about the reality or what I perceive it as. And this is what I came across. Of course, I could have ignored it. But since God himself or Himself has decided to come up with a statement, I simply couldn't brush it aside. Ain't no 72 virgins waiting for you, fellas. — God (@TheTweetOfGod) January 9, 2015 This might break some hearts and disappoint young folks who wish to hurry up, literally. Oh, btw, I just uploaded a super cool post on SEO, regarding how to share content better. Do check it out. :D In any case, just when I was about to sign off, I had this clarification - that popped out from the Notification area - I am the Lord thy God, King of the Universe, the omnipotent and omniscient Creator of Space and Time, and I can take a fucking joke. — God (@TheTweetOfGod) January 9, 2015 Have a nice weekend!

The Serial Killer

There are some people whom you know are odd. By odd I don't mean with 3 eyes or stuff like that, that is quite normal. I mean people who lead normal lives but one look at them and you know they are mass murderers, serial killers or compulsive sex offenders etc. The unsympathetic eyes, the I don't give a f attitude and the staying aloof - all give you the signals you need. When you see these things in a person, and also add to that the 1000 yard gaze they have , sitting alone, all busy to themselves. Of course they won't have friends or even anyone to talk to. Know why? You know why - because they are serial killers at a minimum, they have their dark passengers. They kill and feel nothing and the life that you see in front of your eyes is just a facade they put up to cover their darker side. Look at the guy on the extreme left in this image - that's the stare I am talking about. So we have a serial killer in our office. I wish I could give you his name but well

Living Life Happily

This is what humankind has been striving for a long time. To live a life happily. This pursuit of happiness has led to many comics, books, poems, movies, debates etc in our lives and in the past. You must have read self help books, watched talk shows and done yoga. Here I will give you something new. Something that is out of the ordinary and yet it works pretty well for me. What have I got? I got Bonku. Who is Bonku? An imaginary figure who does everything wrong, in the most hilarious ways imaginable. Also you can pin all the blame on him easily. If there's a cyclone point the finger at Bonku. Someone hates you for no apparent reason? The reason is Bonku. Do not know a particular answer to a question? It's Bonku's fault. This is a completely meaningless picture and has no relevance to the topic at hand. Any attempt to find it will lead to failure and a complete waste of time. Thanks. :D For your convenience you can give a size and shape to Bonku. Over time he

Stalingrad 2013 Movie Review

I saw the trailer of this movie once and really really liked it. What was really interesting was the Thomas Kretschmann acted in a movie with the same name exactly 20 years back. Stalingrad was released in 1993 and the young Kretschmann played the role of a dutiful but conscientious German leutnant of the ill fated 6th Armee. Here also he comes back, slightly older and rugged. The spectacular visuals, the background sound and the lack of background music makes it a realistic watch. That is all positive that I have to say about this trash. Yes, that's what I will this. Naturally, while watching this I brought in similar scenes of Stalingrad (1993) among other war movies. And in comparison this movies cuts so sorry a figure that I dared not watch the entire movie even! The story starts of slow enough and just completely refused to pick up pace. The entire movie seemed to be directed by an amateur school student, bolstered by some insanely talented special effects team. This made t

Watching American SitComs

I have never been a TV guy. Okay, when I was a kid, I loved the Cartoon Network. When I grew a little older, I used to tune into the Movie channels. But since I got a good internet connection, I never really cared for the idiot box. All that changed quite recently. The American Sitcoms/TV series had scored terrific ratings in IMDB. Those ratings did not escape me. But the very term TV series turned me off. I was however attracted to this series called Hannibal. I had watched all the movies on that topic. The extremely addictive show quickly got me hooked and I watched the entire first season in less than a month. Next I tried the very popular - "The Walking Dead". The realism, the decay, the utter helplessness, lack of Hollywood heroism made a fan out of me and so far there is not a single episode I have not seen till date. However entertaining these two shows were, I found 'Two and Half Men' and the 'Big Bang Theory' the best. After a hard day's

Let's Lose Another War

Pakistan Army Recruitment Poster Was wondering what to do. Suddenly had a stroke of imagination. Created this using Google Drawing. Doing stuff like this in office is not easy. Not because people are watching. But because the software to create something like this is not available. Online web apps - especially the image hosting apps and editing tools are all blocked for being hosting or image repositories. While just doing some random ego searching I hit upon this idea. I had this inspiration from this one here. I do not know who exactly created it. A simple Google image search will show. You can do that. I feel too lazy now. :D

Exciting Weekend on the Cards

This weekend is going to be fun. I mean I hope it is. My brother is going to get admitted to some NIT in the South. So Bangalore is going to be a stop for my family. My mom plans to get a flat rented here for her permanently, say like for four years. So I am to look for a new 2BHK for my family. I am looking forward to it. Mainly because the budget is high enough to get a fully furnished apartment. In fact that is what I wish to get. One of my friends is also here. He has got a room close to where I live. I need to make sure the new place is not far from where he stays now. A word is a word. Another friend said he may drop by for some drinks or something. In any case it is going to be fun. On the other hand, I may go all the way to Calicut while my brother's admission is done. In that case I will drop office on Monday. Due to the hectic schedule that is about to come, my secret project work is going to take a hit. So I am trying to make up for it now. Wish me luck. I will need

Thank God It's Friday

Friday is the one of the best days of the week. Every Friday I feel so good. Take today for example. I woke up at 9 after having a 51/2 hour sleep. Bought some bread from the shop and boiled a couple of eggs. I slapped some chocolate cream and cheese on the bread and had it for breakfast. Then I left for office. What I have in mind to do this evening and night is also quite cool. I would love to get myself a wine. Along with a couple of glasses. One extra - just in case. I will just play the Beethoven's Fur Elise and sip wine. I may also try reading a book or two. Already going through a new book - The Six Sacred Stones. As for dinner, I will try to stick to the same stuff I usually have every Friday - either pizza with garlic bread from Dominos or egg biryani from Kabab Masti . In the weekend I have some plans to meet up with friends and have some fun. Cheesy pizzas - That is one my favorite dishes. I just love it.

A Special Interview With Diggy Raja

Last weekend, Diggy Raja responded to the email I sent to him a year back. That too he chose the snail mail. Yes, that's right. I received a postcard for the email! He wrote that he would allow me to interview him. He also gave me the place and time. Every month he visits a renowned psychiatrist for schizophrenia related ailments. While returning he would have some time and that's when he would answer my questions. I was glad. So I went to the clinic, showed the postcard and surprisingly was put into the van where he was sitting. He was restrained with steel chains. But he seemed to be sitting comfortably. A mark of habit perhaps. Me: Thank you very much Diggy Raja for allowing me to interview you. It is an honor. DR: Aaaaaarrrggghh.(Eyes turn red) Hide your shirt...I said hide your shirt.....(he was screaming and crying at the same time) Me: I was wearing a normal brown shirt with a 'OM' symbol etched in yellow. I buttoned my jacket to hide my shirt. DR: Much b

Kahaani -Watched a Movie

Vidya Balan was superb. She is surely going to get another Best Actress award. Going to give Konkona Sen Sharma a run for her money. Saswata was also superb, especially in his new avatar. Well not so new, in fact his look remains more than less the same, but his role is shocking to say the least. Went straight to the French classes from there. Did the class and came straight home. Pretty tired, but sat on the computer and updated a couple of things in thecodepost.in and now I am writing this post here. Texted her twice but have got no reply. Apparently she has hit the bed, or may be putting on her 'unavailable' approach :) Anyway Good Night to her. Till then Good Night to you too. Oh and by the way I suggest you go through this video at least once, it's really fabulous. As for lifting my spirits I checked into this videos here : Enjoy!!!

5p34k 1337

I did not know facebook had this sweet little feature that shows everything in leet speak. Leet is the language spoken by geeks. Though I would prefer not to be one, I found changing the language settings from facebook really made facebook a lot more interesting and much more funny. Here is how you do it. Go to Account Settings, Now change the language to leet speak (Other interesting ones are under the English category, say English upside down or Pirate English.) Click on Save Changes. Everything will turn to leet speak! Go to 'Home' or 127.0.0.1 and see the fun. There are a number of funny changes, like : Messages - /msg Find Friends - find n00bz and Profile Pictures become pr0n, acronym for p0rn! Anyway if you can accept it as harmless fun, you can make your facebook experience more enjoyable. Have a good time.

Games for FREE

Yes I wrote that right. Not a typo. And before you jump to conclusions, I am not encouraging you to pirate games either. You can play many games absolutely for free. There is no dearth of options either. First person shooters, role playing games, strategy games etc - all are available. I don't intend to insult your machine my giving choices about flash games either. So first to whet your appetite I will post a few screenshots. America's Army 3 America's Army3   America's Army Ok, lets begin with America's Army. Launched to encourage people to volunteer for the US Army, the game is super cool and multi dimensional. Graphics is great for such a free game and the mods and multiplayer content is massive. So, if you intend to start with gaming for free and being fully legit, I suggest you download this game via Steam and get started. And don't worry there is no compulsion in joining the Army, so you can play fine. Let me tell you, the game is re

Make a gadget

Creating gadgets for Windows is very easy. So easy, in fact a class 8 kid can make them, provided he knows basic stuff like HTML, JavaScript and CSS. Even then there are issues that are faced when you start doing things the first time. So I may just be able to get you started. By the end of it, you will probably say to yourself that this was just sooooo easy. First thing first. You must know HTML, CSS and basic JavaScript, otherwise what I will write here will look like Sumerian to you. So if you wish to take a look and brush up your skills, here are the links to go. I'll wait. www.w3schools.com/js/ www.w3schools.com/html/ www.w3schools.com/css/ Yes I am a particular fan of w3schools, mainly because they have got a code testing playground, invaluable for immediate testing and  experimentation .  Now that you are ready, lets get started. The Bare Layout of a Windows Sidebar Gadget A gadget is simply a webpage with its scripts, stylesheets and everythin

Control Hotkeys

Image Credits VNAMedia This weekend I plan to learn coding hotkeys and sending them to Winforms, basically for fun. I was testing the Control + N hotkeys and came up with some really useful text book material. This particular code was made to test things and worked great. I was happy and posted it here to ease the work for you. Public Const MOD_CTRL As Integer = & H2 'Control key     Public Const WM_HOTKEY As Integer = & H312     <DllImport ( "User32.dll" ) > _     Public Shared Function RegisterHotKey ( ByVal hwnd As IntPtr, _                         ByVal id As Integer , ByVal fsModifiers As Integer , _                         ByVal vk As Integer ) As Integer     End Function     <DllImport ( "User32.dll" ) > _     Public Shared Function UnregisterHotKey ( ByVal hwnd As IntPtr, _                         ByVal id As Integer ) As Integer     End Function     Private Sub Form1_Load (

Simple Site Building with Webmatrix

Microsoft WebMatrix is intended to serve the website creation, customisation and publication needs of designers and amateurs, and not as a substitute for Visual Studio or other professional development tools. As a professional developer, I can see why it might appeal to its target audience, but I can't stand to use it myself for more than 15 minutes at a time. Rick Grehan's  preview of WebMatrix  in November covered most of the product features well, so I won't repeat his descriptions and analysis. Since then, a few features and gallery items have been added, which I'll discuss as I go along. I've included a handful of screen images at the end of the article. Rick picked on the weakness of the editor and the lack of a debugger, and until I worked with the product myself, I didn't understand how kind he was in the way he phrased his objections. After spending time with WebMatrix, I know otherwise. By choosing the WordPress framework, for example
