Dear Afghanistan - Go back to Hell

The message is clear. USA will leave Afghanistan. So will all NATO forces. It is nice to see that American intentions are laid bare. Once the job is done, they are content to go. The Afghans can kill themselves, thrash their women to death, stone people, indulge in terror attacks in the neighborhood, blow up babies, pour acid or shoot women and so on. All is fine as long as USA is not again attacked. Fine job, gentlemen. If they would have said we are coming to get Osama, I would have had some respect for them. But all those talks of 'bringing democracy' sounds just so hollow. USA does not care. It never did.

Afghanistan is a hell hole. There is no doubt about it. It was a shit hole and a hell hole before the Americans arrived. If you walk the streets of the country, you may feel transported to the 9th century or earlier. Brutality reigns supreme and whatever compassion is there is enshrined in tribal codes and does not usually come out of compassion. With the NATO presence many Afghans were disarmed and were prevented from killing each other. The presence of foreign media and foreign forces forced Afghans to behave properly. Especially with their women. Don't think they loved the foreigners. Afghans will never do that. One thing the Afghans despise the most is aliens coming to their land and stop them slaughter each other. But they knew the odds. So they stayed away. Of course a substantial portion of the population hates the Taliban. Especially the educated women. But their numbers are so minuscule that they need not be even counted.

Let's go back to the glory days of the Taliban. Days that are set to return next year with great aplomb. Pakistan is already on the verge of an orgasm thinking about it. More cheap suicide bombers for a new Kashmir intifada. The world would care less. Silly and unIslamic notions of women's rights, equal human rights, right to education etc will go down the drain. A pure Shariah based Islamic Caliphate will come into being where husbands will become shepherds and their wives - like goats.

With the foreign presence there is indeed a pretense that Afghans are trying at least to come to terms with the 21st century. Women were getting into police, ex-Taliban folks were coming out into open and turning 'moderate' and so on. But now, as Obama has promised a complete pull out, the devil is coming out into the open again. The officer among the women policemen was shot dead recently. The opium traders are getting back on track, so that the proceeds can fund more bloodshed. Hopefully their economy will flourish soon.

There is actually not much to write. What is going to happen is clear to everyone. It has already started. God's soldiers will pounce on the people who tried to improve their lives instead of blowing themselves up. The children will leave the school and sport the Kalashnikov. The women will go back into their sacks and herded into the bedroom. Bamiyan will be completely destroyed and mujahedin will be exported to fight wars of aggression all over the world. Except, may be USA and Europe. That should be a pre-condition. They are free to kill Indians, or other Asians, etc.

The government also appointed a former Taliban official to the country’s new human rights body, while criminal laws under consideration in parliament would prevent women and girls testifying against family members accused of abusing them. Read this link here to know what's coming.

NATO is smart. They like to leave some toys behind so that the disarmed Afghans have something to play with. This includes firearms and munitions. Some of these were left behind as bases were being evacuated. The media found it out and spoilt the game. They may need to postpone this fight to some later date. Another interesting thing is that these trucks, when they leave Afghanistan and move to Pakistan, they are often blown up for fun. So the priority for evacuating live ammunition is low.

Some still think that Afghanistan's future is uncertain. I will disagree. It is obvious and certain. The Taliban will make a comeback. It is simple. Everyone knows it. Karzai knows it. USA knows it. The Taliban knows it as well. It is just a matter of time. They can use this time to hone their skills. Except skills regarding suicide bombing. That is a one way trip. The Germans are much better in this regard. Unlike the Americans, they have decided to do the utmost to save the helpers of the Bundesarmee, if necessary even by allowing immigration.

The condition is changing fast. MPs are also suffering. Hell, they are getting kidnapped, along with children! But then not much can be expected from the Government of Afghanistan. Their writ runs only in Kabul, and Kandahar. The very Parliament was attacked by these holy warriors.

Let me also issue a stark warning here. Those who feel that abandoning a nation in its crisis is cool, because you can cut down your own loss of blood is selfish. You are going to lose the right to complain if Americans get killed in another terror attack.

Operational Situational Summary - Ukraine 2 March

From a glance at the map and the news reports, it appears that the Russian advance has been very slow or even checked. However, a deeper look shows the situation has worsened significantly for Ukraine. That this happened as per my expectation in the past few posts makes me feel worse. In the North, the Russian forces have already encircled Chernihiv in the past couple of days. This is not yet fully updated on this map. The two strong armored spearheads from Konotop (which had also fallen) are currently holding in Pryluky and Nizhyn. The Chernihiv garrison probably has a day or two before the Russians reach Kozelets. Then any breakout attempt to Kyiv will become extremely difficult and will likely result in very heavy losses. It is to be expected that this city too, will fall soon without affecting the battle of Kyiv. This is bad for Ukraine. Now that the International Community has rallied for Ukraine, the previous fears of Russia dealing with breakaway republics in the East should be

Growing up

Time affects everything and everyone We all grow up. After college, friends go places, to different states and far away countries. You get less and less time. Some go for higher studies, again, in other states. Parents get older. Then friends start getting married. First it’s usually the girls. One by one, your crushes tie the knot. You dismiss it, you are still young. Then your guy friends start getting married too. Your circle shrinks. In the end you look around. All you are left with are ideological nutjobs, immature imbeciles, idealistic crazies, bohemian hippies, or other misfits. Do you really belong here? Okay, that was too harsh. But you think. You say to yourself, ‘ dil to baccha hai jee ’.  Okay, fair enough. And then... Then, you see a growing pot belly. Something you always despised. Your dad had one (he still does). After taking a shower, you look at the mirror. You are losing hair. You search on Amazon for hair growing products - it is too much of a hassle. Hair transplan

Operation Situation Report Summary - Ukraine 4 March

Defense Without Strategy Ukraine seems to be hell bent on fighting a static war without almost any flexibility. Their forces may be valiant and defiant, but without a coherent strategy, the best they can hope for is to prolong their own suffering WITHOUT significantly hurting the enemy. Here is how the situation stands as of now. Kherson has fallen. The front in the South was decisively broken day before yesterday with the capture of the railway station and port. Naturally, the Russian forces did not wait and moved straight North to Mykolaiv. All UA forces on the Dnepr facing South are likely to be outflanked. Unless the Russian spearheads are cut off and destroyed in a day or two, it will be too late. The fall of the entire South seems to be inevitable.  To extricate the forces, UA should have withdrawn forces from other sectors (including far away Donetsk front). Now, the best they can try is to win time to reinforce Kyiv. Kharkov is almost surrounded. This battle seems to be fought
